The membership of the parish council consists of 12 lay members, who are registered members of Saint Bernard's parish. The parish council assists the pastor in the spiritual, financial and social affairs of the parish in operation and management. All registered members of the parish, 18 years or older, shall be entitled to one vote in each election. The election of the parish council members takes place annually. Members serve for a term of three years and serve no more than two successive elected terms.

The Finance Council is a separate and distinct body that collaborates with the parish council in all matters financial, including money, assets, and properties. Two trustees are elected by the parishioners to serve in this capacity.
Our commissions serve under the parish council. Commissions assist the pastor to provide programs for our parish membership to help grow in faith, overall health and quality of life and address the needs of those in the local community.
