As you may recall, last fall I took a trip to Rome for the diaconate ordinations of two of our seminarians, Deacon Enan Zelinski and Deacon Tim Mergen.
They will be ordained to the priesthood in late June.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic in Italy, they returned home along with the other Madison seminarians studying in Rome.
As a result, Bishop Hying has asked St. Bernard to host Deacon Enan from now until his ordination.
It will give him an opportunity to get some practical parish experience while finishing up some academic things on-line.
I am really excited about this. I have known Enan since he was in high school when I was pastor of St. Henry Parish in Watertown.
He be an excellent – though short-term – addition to our parish family. I look forward to introducing him in person in the near future.
