According to statistics, 93 percent of clients at The Beacon, a day resource center for people who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, are men. For that reason, our Human Needs Commission will hold a men’s clothing drive for The Beacon on Sept. 25-26 and Oct. 2-3. The men’s clothing items and shoes should be new or gently used, but the underwear and socks should be new. Along with the clothing items, we will also collect backpacks (in masculine colors), sleeping bags and small one– or two-man tents. Collection barrels will be located at each of the church entrances.
