The Snack Pack Blessings program finished the school year serving 17 children each week and distributing more than 2,000 pounds of food to families of Elm Lawn Elementary School for the last eight months.
“On behalf of the Human Needs Commission and the coordinating team, I would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who volunteered time and financial support to make this program successful,” said Georgine Jacobs, the program coordinator. “We have heard from the school social worker that the weekly packs of food were needed and appreciated.”
Jacobs said it is important to continue the program during the next school year.
