Joe Stemper, left, and Peter Stemper, right, of T.H. Stemper Co., in Milwaukee unpacked, unwrapped and installed the statue of St. Bernard of Clairvaux in the church on Dec. 10.
It is a custom hand-carved piece, and there are only two in the world, said Joe Stemper. The other is located at St. Bernard parish in Appleton.
The statue was carved in a studio in Ortisei, a town in northern Italy.
Parishioner Joe Gugel, in the background, made the base for the statue.
Fr. Brian said he hopes to have Bishop Donald J. Hying bless the statue, when he celebrates Mass here in February.
