One of the Corporal Works of Mercy is Feed the Hungry. We take that charge seriously and work with community organizations to provide food to those in need.
Luke House: On the first Wednesday of each month, a team of volunteers prepares and serves a noon meal at Luke House in Madison. Volunteers meet in our kitchen at 9:30 a.m., and arrive back around 1 p.m. For those who want to help but cannot go during the day, donations of ingredients or treats are helpful.
Catholic Multicultural Center (CMC) meal program: On the third Monday of each month, a team of volunteers prepares and serves an evening meal at the Catholic Mutlitcultural Center in Madison. Volunteers meet at church at 12:30 p.m., and return around 6 p.m. For those who want to help but cannot go during the day, donations of ingredients or treats are helpful.
Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM): Non-perishible food items can be donated to MOM in the donation bins in the hallway at the side entrances and between the parish center and church on any weekend. Three times per year, we encourage parish-wide participation for larger food drives.
Catholic Multicultural Center - Adopt the Pantry: The CMC Food Pantry is open to all who need food assistance. Each family can use the food pantry up to twice a month. CMC has teamed up with 12 churches and community organizations, which have each adopted the pantry for one month during the year. Our parish has adopted the CMC pantry for February. We donate all of the food items collected in February to the CMC.
Snack Pack Blessings - Weekend food program for students who signed up at the Elm Lawn and Northside Elementary Schools in Middleton. Food items are bought by St. Bernard each week, and then the snack packs are stuffed and delivered to the schools.
