This weekend we will resume the celebration of public Masses with some restrictions.
First, we will be using the regular schedule of 5 PM Saturday and 8 AM and 1030 AM on Sunday.
Our attendance will be limited to 50 at each Mass. Since it is hard to gauge how many people may wish to attend, we will be requiring people to sign-up in advance.
See the link for this below. At the risk of sounding blunt, if you do not sign up in advance, do not assume that you can simply show up and expect to get in. You can also call the office to sign up.
Second, access to the Church will be limited to the east door by the chapel. This is being done to monitor the numbers. Hand sanitizer will also be available at this door. The entrance through the school will not be open, and prior to Mass the other church doors will not be open.
Third, seating in the Church will be by every other row. You will see that certain pews will be cordoned off. Unless you are all in the same family, proper distancing should be maintained.
Who should be attending? The following is from a statement by Bishop Hying that was issued last week.
“Our hope is that our elderly and at-risk faithful people will exercise prudence and not yet attend Mass, especially given the current dispensation from the Sunday obligation, but we do want to begin enabling others to participate in the Eucharistic sacrifice, the central experience of Catholicism, which we have all sorely missed in these challenging weeks of the pandemic.” In short, use good and prudent judgement.
If you do come, the use of face masks is highly recommended.
Lastly, you will see below that we are asking for some volunteers to help wipe down and sanitize surfaces in the church after each Mass.
