The Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities is working to become a more accessible and visible resource to the leaders of every parish in the Diocese of Madison.
A foundation of this effort by the apostolate is the parish disability liaison, which Bishop Hying and apostolate would like to see in every parish in our diocese.
The parish disability liaison is a volunteer, who facilitates strong relationships between persons with disabilities, their parish and the apostolate.
The liaison would assist the pastor in his ministry with persons with disabilities and their families and work toward total inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities in parish life.
The liaison would participate in an initial training session and four ongoing education sessions each year; serve as a liaison for sharing information to and from the apostolate; and coordinate parish participation in annual diocesan events and apostolate programs as needed.
