Youth Education

Graduating seniors are welcome to apply for the Fr. Pat Higgins Memorial Scholarship by downloading the application packet at this link. (If you do not have a printer at home, please email Kevin Sullivan by May 18). The application is due to the parish office by Noon on Friday, May 29 and a winner will be selected in early June.

Religious Education

As with almost all activities, religious education is currently on "hold" for the remainder of the academic year. Jenna or Kevin can answer any questions you have and please know that we are planning to open registrations for RE 2020-21 in July this summer.

Sacramental Preparation

Traditionally, First Communion and First Reconciliation occur during a student's second-grade year. Our diocese asks us to ensure that students are enrolled in religious education for one full year prior to seeking a sacrament.
Confirmation will be celebrated in the fall of tenth grade (or later, if the student is not ready). All students K-12 should be enrolled in parish catechetical programs. Our High School Faith Formation program does not end with Confirmation. We pause to celebrate the sacrament but know that it is only one step in our journey in growing in relationship with Christ.

Sacramental preparation is "above and beyond" standard Religious Education classes. Together, we will work with parents, families, and sponsors to prepare your child for these special, grace-filled moments.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a week-long event for elementary students (ages 4K through fifth grade) held each summer here at St. Bernard. This year, it will be held Aug. 4-7. 
 

Youth Retreats & Events

Our parish participates in many retreats and events. Many of these opportunities are above and beyond traditional religious education. We strongly encourage participation, because retreats are a great opportunity to truly encounter the Lord. When available, information about upcoming retreats and ways to register will be found here.
